Dr Andrew Hunt (BMed FANZCA)

Dr Hunt works as a specialist anaesthetist in private practice in Perth, Western Australia.

Dr Hunt was born and bred is Western Australia.

He graduated from medicine at the University of Newcastle with distinction. Distinction is awarded to the top 10% of graduates.

Dr Hunt completed anaesthesia training in Western Australia under the rotational anaesthetic training scheme spending time at all major metropolitan teaching hospitals. He completed subspecialty training in paediatrics (PMH) and regional anaesthesia (SCGH).

Dr Hunt was awarded a merit certificate for excellence in the primary anaesthetic examination (ANZCA). This is only awarded to a handful of the very best performing candidates in the Australia and New Zealand wide examination.

He has previously held substantiative positions in major teaching hospitals including Fremantle Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Dr Hunt exceeds the continuing professional development requirements of the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthesia.

Dr Hunt is an experienced specialist who undertakes a variety of complex and subspecialty work within anaesthesia as a regular part of his week. His sub speciality interests include:

  • Procedural Sedation (Gastroenterology)
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecological Anaesthesia and Pain relief in Labour
  • Regional Anaesthesia (Orthopaedic surgery).
  • General Surgery & Bariatric Anaesthesia
  • Ophthalmic (Eye) Anaesthesia
  • Airway Surgery (ENT and Maxillofacial Surgery)
  • Paediatric Anaesthesia

His interests outside work include being a husband, father, loving his family, attending a place of worship, catching fish and supporting the mighty Fremantle Football Club.
